Wingless Dragon

He has four eyes for a better vision. Horns to protect the head and the neck. Big head and jaw to make him a very good predator. Gecko-like foot with membrane between the fingers for crawling, climbing and swimming. Ergonomic and light-shapeed body to give a good, fast and effective movement. Big short tail to big a good balance.

Oh yeah.. He is wingless. He don't like to fly. He prefer to swim. He is a shy dragon.

He is me (in a dragon prosthetic suit), haha..

A Yogi

Tribute to Mr. Bolland

I got this beautiful image from my friend, Octa, two years ago. It's a (scanned) quick sketch by Briand Bolland. The artist beyond one of the greatest Batman saga, The Killing Joke. With the genius writer, Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, Watchmen, From Hell), Mr Bolland produced that marvelous tale ot the caped crusader and his greatest villain, The Joker.

Actually, i asked my friend to get the autograph and a little sketch from Mr Bolland at STGCC 09 at Singapore. But i wasn't lucky enough to get what i wanted. I only got this one. A scanned picture of the drawing. Damn!

And today, with that sketch, i made something different. I gave him color, dimension, depth, emotion and smile :)

#01 picture is the orginal sketch from mr. Bolland.
#02 picture is his original sketch with some additional shadow by me
#03 Basic color added
#04 the 3 hours speed painting is done. And i see the combination of Jack nicholson and Hugo weaving in him. Haha..

At the end, Smile :)

Olla..

Two things. I like Agyness. And i like Aurelie Neyret a.k.a. CLO's artwork. They are very very inspiring. Because of that, i made an artwork that related with them. I drew short black-haired
Agyness with CLO's gorgeous style.

Actually, i want to submit this picture as my first post at artflakes.com. Yes, they found me and ask me to join them. What a pleasent surprise, aye? but i got some advices from my back to aboard that mission (post this picture). They said "that's not YOU! Please sell your own style, don't follow others".

Agree! but i still love this picture. Simple, honest, and FYI, it's difficult to reproduce CLO's style. And when i can do it, i'll be very happy.

Here is the deal. It will never appear on artflakes.com, but have to be seen on my own blog.

Happy saturday, lads. Be blessed.

Litoria sp. nov.

I found it at my old project's folder. Litoria sp. nov. a.k.a. Pinocchio's nose frog, a newly found species from the deep forest of Papua. I made it (with my partner company) last year for giant oil and mining company but (this picture was) rejected because they want to expose the beauty of papua's various birds. So be it. I made 12 birds from papua and the frog is mine.

Honestly, this is my favourite illustration from this project. Very detail and.. specular. Fyi, i like to draw specular objects such as eyes, bottle, water and frog. It's very exciting and challenging, you know? haha..

Hope i can get a kind of project like this in 2011. One project at least. Just for fun. just to stretch my hand and brain :)

Good day lads, Gb.
